Another Social Networking Site
Will it ever end? Microsoft will launch a new social networking site to compete with Facebook. With the ongoing proliferation of social networking sites how will anyone be able to manage their contacts using a single application. Maybe a social network consolidation center.

Google actually is touting something like a social network consolidation center. It launched a few weeks ago and had Facebook as a big endorser. I think the day after it launched, Facebook pulled out, saying it violated "privacy" issues or something like that.
Just remember the article called Facebook and MySpace "walled gardens" who were trying to keep their members to themselves. That's the same criticism lobbied against my company a while back and you can see where we are now. Could that happen to Facebook?
I need a social networking consolidation center for my Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Blog pages. How cool would that be? Maybe an iGoogle portal with social networking portlets.
